JSR Submission Deadlines Prior to JavaOne
The deadline for posting new JSR stages prior to the JavaOne conference is quickly approaching. Please be sure to let the PMO know, on or before the end of day 7 April, if your JSR is planning any stage in the JSR process prior to the conference (15-19 May). If you do not notify the PMO by 7 April, we cannot guarantee your JSR will be posted prior to JavaOne.

Agenda Set for JCP Program Activities @ JavaOne
In addition to the myriad technical sessions and BoF sessions discussing technologies developed through the JCP program, there are some community activities planned during the JavaOne Conference, especially for JCP program members. See highlights below.

  • Monday: JCP training session (pre-conference day).
  • Tuesday: Spec Lead Dinner hosted by the PMO.
  • Wednesday: Evening event for all JCP program participants. More details to follow as we approach the date.
  • Tuesday - Thursday: JCP pod in the Sun Microsystems booth at the Pavilion. Free stuff and representatives of the JCP PMO will be on hand to talk/answer questions.
  • Monday - Wednesday: JCP Meeting Room, The Argent Hotel. Open to all JCP Expert Groups to conduct face-to-face meetings for their JSRs. Contact Liz (liz@jcp.org) for details and to reserve the room.
Also of note: Tommy and his creator will be making an appearance at JavaOne this year. You may remember "Tommy", an autonomous, unmanned Java-powered dune buggy that competed with 39 other vehicles (winnowed down from a field of 195) as part of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Grand Challenge at the California Speedway in Fontana, California in 2005. PBS has produced a special on the DARPA Grand Challenge--view videos and slide shows at pbs.org.
