Upcoming Events – Training, Serverside Java Symposium,
JavaOne Conference
The JCP program 2006 calendar of events is now available.
 
The first JCP Program Training Session of 2006 has been scheduled for 27-28 February in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Contact liz@jcp,org for more information and stay tuned for more details.
 
The ServerSide Java Symposium In 2005, nearly 500 people attended TheServerSide.com Java Symposium, and nearly ¾ of attendees felt the Java Symposium was more valuable than any other events they attended. The JCP program is a sponsor of the conference again this year, and the organizers claim it will be even bigger and better. Find out more.

Duke's Choice Awards Nominations Open
Nominations are now open for the Duke's Choice Awards 2006 until 15 March. Winners are selected by James Gosling and are announced at the JavaOne Conference. Thise prestigious award - now in the fourth edition - is granted to innovative projects using the Java platform.

Did you know that the PMO offers Public Relations support to spec leads? The JCP conducts outreach to the press with JSR news on an ongoing bi-weekly basis. If would like to highlight your JSR, please contact Corina Ulescu at corina@jcp.org.
  • JSR 289, SIP Servlet v1.1, has been approved for development. This specification is an enhancement to the SIPServlet specification. The central focus of this JSR is to enhance the existing SIPServlet specification with new requirements determined by the industry.
  • JSR 290, Java Language & XML User Interface Markup Integration, is now available for review. This JSR enables creation of Java ME applications which combine Web UI markup technologies with Java code. The intent is to leverage the W3C Compound Document Format (CDF) specification.
  • JSR 270, Java SE 6 Release Contents, is now available for Early Draft Review. This review closes 19 February.
  • JSR 263,Fault Management API, is now available for Early Draft Review. This review closes 2 February.
  • JSR 220, Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0, has published their Proposed Final Draft.
  • JSR 198, A Standard Extesnion API for Integrated Development Environments, has published their Proposed Final Draft.
  • JSR 228, Information Module Profile - Next Generation (IMP-NG), has completed its work and published the Final Release of the specification.
