Expert Group	Kelvin Nilsen	Dr. Nilsen's seminal research on the topic of real-time Java led to the founding of NewMonics which was acquired by Aonix In 2003 and merged with Artisan to become Atego in 2010. Dr. Kelvin Nilsen has served as the Chief Technology Officer over Java technologies at NewMonics, Aonix, and Atego. Previously, Dr. Nilsen pioneered research in real-time programming as computer science faculty at Iowa State University that resulted in five commercial patents including key VM technologies such as real-time garbage collection. As the inventor of the first real-time garbage collector for Java and the driving force behind its adoption in the PERC Ultra virtual machine product family, Dr. Nilsen was a leading figure in initiating the NIST effort to define requirements for the use of Java in real-time systems. Dr. Nilsen has participated in the Java Community Process efforts for JSR-50, JSR-282, and JSR-302. Dr. Nilsen holds a B.S. in physics from Brigham Young University, and MS and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the University of Arizona.		May 1, 2015	Y	Y
