I have worked with BEA and Oracle as a consultant, so I have seen real-world problems and the lack of configuration was one of them.
Now I am in Oracle development in a team focused on EE4j and cloud development. One of our libraries is a configuration library and I was/am involved in its design and implementation. |
Welcome on board, Tomas! |

Andres Almiray |
Andres is a Java/Groovy developer and a Java Champion with more than 17 years of experience in software design and development. He has been involved in web and desktop application development since the early days of Java. Andres is a true believer in open source and has participated on popular projects like Groovy, Griffon, and DbUnit, as well as starting his own projects (Json-lib, EZMorph, GraphicsBuilder, JideBuilder). Founding member of the Griffon framework and Hackergarten community event.
Andres is the Spec lead of JSR-377 (Desktop Application API). This JSR requires a configuration API (currently has one of its own) but it'll be great if it relied on JSR-382 to achieve the same goal. |

I'm the creator and lead developer of the KumuluzEE framework which recently joined MicroProfile and for which I received the Java Duke's Choice Award in 2015. I've worked on implementing various cloud-native features and extensions to Java with KumuluzEE (such as config, discovery, metrics, fault-tolerance, ...) and worked on aligning them with the MicroProfile specifications. I'm the head of development of integration and cloud solutions in the high-tech start-up Sunesis d.o.o., and have worked on numerous projects developing advanced cloud-native applications for enterprises in Slovenia and abroad. I worked on building, implementing and migrating to a modern microservice architecture for various enterprises, most of which were based on core Java and now MicroProfile cloud-native features and extensions. My work and contributions on Java cloud-native microservices features and extensions is heavily inspired by real-world use cases and requirements that I ran into and needed to solve in big enterprise systems. |

As configuration has always been a critical point in all projects I'd like to join this JSR to see if I can help based on my experience in projects I ran over the years. |

Having worked with configuration tools prior to MicroProfile Config, I've learned some of the problems and benefits of using standard APIs within Java to determine system configuration and application configuration. I look to help standardize this configuration to better support integrating with internal configuration of Java SE & EE applications. |
