Siemens votes Yes for the proposal but has some concerns regarding the JSR proposal:
As stated in section 2.12 the proposed new XML API will affect already existing APIs.
For Siemens the current explanation text in section 2.12 is not sufficient, because there will be implications which have to be well understood and solved. 
- For example, if current affected APIs will have to become deprecated to avoid fragmentation within the J2ME API space and 3rd party developer�s confusion, then this might have consequences in the current definition of the roadmap of JSR 248 MSA. 
- Another example would be the transition/migration of product implementations from old to new XML APIs without negatively affecting the time to market.
We invite the spec leads to explain and propose their vision and solution to avoid any negative consequences due to proliferation of XML APIs
