BEA believes that the mapping of requests to servlets in section SRV.11.1 should specify a fifth class of mappings, for patterns of the form *.xyz/* where xyz is some extension.  The unmatched tail of the URL would become the path info.  This is similar to support provided in Apache, and allows more flexible mapping.
