These are the final results of the JSR Renewal Ballot for JSR #373. The EC has approved this ballot.
Special Vote Instructions
The main goal of JSR 373 is to provide an updated Java EE management
API, the previous version of which was was defined by JSR 77 in 2002
and last updated in 2006.
While Java EE evolved, its management standard has stagnated. The result is a gap which we want to fill with JSR 373.
My assigned development priorities in spring and summer 2015, however, were more connected with the adoption of Java EE 7 than development of Java EE 8, thus resulting in a delay in the JSR 373 work.
We still strongly believe in the importance of JSR 373, and are seeking to reinvigorate it. My management is currently working to identify a new Oracle expert group (co)speclead to mitigate any future delays in moving the JSR 373 work forward.
Thank you,
Martin
