  • The PMO hosted a webinar on the topic of transparency in December titled "How to Run an Expert Group Efficiently", and spec leads Mike Milikich (Motorola) and Ed Burns (Sun) spoke about tools and techniques that they have used with their expert groups. The December meeting was recorded and is now available; the next meeting will be 11 March and will focus on the topic of Inactive JSRs; watch your inbox for an invitation: http://jcp.org/en/resources/multimedia.
  • Speaking of transparency, the PMO is now making available both the minutes and the materials of JCP EC meetings see: http://jcp.org/en/resources/EC_summaries.
  • For more on the "Transparency Initiative" see the slides from the December 2008 EC meeting on that topic. You can also read the latest JSR case study series on Transparency and public drafts here, featuring JSR 283, JSR 308, JSR 310 & JSR 321: http://jcp.org/en/press/news/transparency.

You may have noticed a label for some JSRs being developed through the JCP program—Inactive JSRs have both not posted a Final Release and have not posted a JCP milestone draft for the last 18 months. When the JSR posts a milestone or is withdrawn it will be listed as active again on the appropriate page. You can learn more here.

To view a list of such JSRs: http://jcp.org/en/jsr/stage?listBy=inactive.
